In 2016, Mayor Bowser launched 202Creates to recognize and celebrate the important contributions of the arts in the District. Each year during the month of September, we elevate public awareness surrounding the value of the arts and the collective impact the arts bring to the District, known as one of the most creative cities in the world. We also spotlight local talent across all 8 wards, including culinary masters, creative educators and advocates, cosmetology professionals, fashion industries, musicians, filmmakers, creative entrepreneurs, visual and performing artists, and production support companies.
